A range of saline habitats. Salt pond margins, the sandy border of salt marshes and estuaries, sandy and gravelly beaches and tidal flats. Several records are in moist salt flats on the protected sides of low dunes. Often found in monotypic patches on otherwise bare sand.
Threats to Survival
Off-road vehicles and trampling from beach users are the primary threats, with development threatening some estuarine locations. Shifting sand and storm damage present challenges, but are not dire threats.

Monitoring for invasive plants, over-abundance of native plants, protection of habitat and limiting of disturbance by humans.
