Habitat Description

Known from woodlands, roadsides and field edges. Extant populations located in dense shrub thickets near roadsides.

Threats to Survival

Lack of regeneration and competition from aggressive woody plants are the two greatest management concerns for extant populations. Aggressive native plants out competing, deer browse and overshadowing are also threats.

Actions Recommended to Ensure Survival

Removal of out competing native and invasive plants, fencing around individual plants and protection from deer browse are all recommended.
